Client: American Marketing Association (AMA)
Engagement: 12-Month Enterprise Communications Strategy
Overview: As artificial intelligence and shifting workforce dynamics reshaped the marketing profession, the American Marketing Association (AMA)—a global professional association serving more than 29,000 members—partnered with Mpact PR to strengthen its position as the trusted voice guiding marketers through change. Over the course of a year, we developed and executed an integrated communications strategy that elevated executive thought leadership, expanded media visibility, strengthened content distribution, and aligned communications across the organization.
The Challenge: AMA had a respected brand and a wealth of valuable content, but an opportunity existed to better connect its communications efforts, amplify executive thought leadership, and reinforce its value to current and prospective members.
The goal wasn’t simply greater visibility—it was to ensure every communication advanced the organization’s mission and member experience.
The Strategy
Executive Thought Leadership: Mpact PR positioned CEO Bennie F. Johnson as a trusted voice on leadership, artificial intelligence, and the future of marketing by securing interviews across print, digital, and podcast platforms, developing executive messaging around proprietary research, and identifying strategic speaking opportunities that aligned with AMA’s long-term priorities.
Integrated Content Strategy: We connected podcast interviews, research reports, newsletters, blogs, and digital content into a coordinated communications engine—extending the value of every asset while reinforcing key organizational messages.
As part of this effort, we also identified industry award opportunities that contributed to AMA’s flagship podcast, Marketing / And, earning Signal Awards Finalist (2025) recognition.

Communications Alignment: We advised on opportunities to better align newsletters, web content, executive communications, and campaign messaging, creating a more cohesive communications experience and ensuring key stories reached audiences with greater consistency.
The Impact: The engagement strengthened AMA’s visibility and reinforced its leadership during a pivotal moment for the marketing profession.
Key outcomes included:
- Elevated CEO visibility through strategic media placements and executive thought leadership.
- Developed more than 20 executive thought leadership articles that extended the reach and value of AMA’s podcast conversations.
