Earlier this year, Ernesto Lara wrote and submitted a science rap for PBS NewsHour’s Science Rap Contest. There were more than 100 entries across three categories: adult, high school and K-8. Today, Lara was excited to learn that he was selected as the winner for the adult category. Producer Max Bent arranged and composed the instrumental track.

The PBS NewsHour science rap contest is modeled after a pilot project that encourages teachers to use rap songs to teach science. The NewsHour reported on the project in March. Please see clip below.
